About LP Somlick
The largest temple in Phrae conducted a Buddha Statue Adoption event for both large (63 cm height) and small (35 cm height) Buddha statues. The event was led by LP Somlick, the most senior monk in the region and Abbot of Wat BangLuangLue, who offered powerful prayers of blessing for direct and indirect wealth, success, and good fortune according to the names and dates of birth of the devotees.
LP Somlick is the last remaining disciple of Kruba Srivichai, and in his late 60s, he is devoted to an ascetic lifestyle, refraining from physical pleasures and comforts. As the esteemed abbot of BangLuangLue in Phrae, he is widely revered as a supreme patriarch in Northern Thailand, having taught and mentored thousands of monks in the path of Dhamma while remaining approachable and accessible.
Not only is he sought after for his Dhamma teachings, but many superstars and tycoons from around the world also visit him for his blessings and prayers, as it is widely acknowledged that his prayers have helped many attain successful and fulfilling lives, enabling them to engage in charitable and positive endeavors with their wealth to make a positive impact on the world.
LP Somlick ensures that the monks in his temple behave appropriately and are well-cared for, warmly welcoming all visitors to the temple. Having entered monkhood at the age of 10, he has spent more than half a century living a monastic life and is renowned for his expertise in astrological readings, psychic abilities, meditation, and Dhamma teachings. He is an expert in mindfulness concentration in Buddhism.
It is also my greatest honour and privilege to be able to enter monkhood under his guidance. I have learnt valuable lessons from him both in Dhamma teachings and in astrological reading, and my heartfelt gratitude for his selfless impartation of knowledge onto me, is beyond words can describe.
Thanks to the participants who adopted both the large and small size Emerald (Jade) Buddha (Phra Kaew), and carried out Sangkatan, an offering of monk robe and daily necessities to the senior monk.
